If you have ever taken children on a trip, you know that the perennial question is “Are we there yet?”
Jewel’s question is similar. “Are you done with your offerings and ready to remit to the conference?” In order to find that out, Jewel must ask you, every time you enter a deposit that could be the last one, “Are you there yet?”
NOTE: Once you have remitted, you will be unable to enter new offerings in the current month without assistance from your technical support. That is why Jewel wants you to make sure that all offerings are entered before remitting.
Instead of just asking you, "Have you entered all offerings (including AdventistGiving) for current month", Jewel shows you the offerings that you have entered so far so you can decide if you still have more to enter. If you need to enter more, click on “No – Enter more offerings” and Jewel will take you back to Start New Offering. If you have finished them all, click on “Yes – continue to month-end closing” and you will end up at Remit to Conference.
If you are not completely sure, it is better to say No and investigate further. In fact, it is a good idea to look at your bank statement, comparing it to the Bank Rec page, just to see if all the offering deposits that are on the statement are all entered in Jewel. You don’t want to actually reconcile yet, just verify that you are not forgetting any offering deposits. Then click “Cancel,” yes to save, and close the Bank Rec page and come back to Start New Offering.
A reminder: If you say Yes but then realize that you have forgotten a deposit, but you have not actually remitted yet, you can always use the “back door.” Click on Offerings (top bar next to file) and then click on Start New Offering. You will see a warning message, which, if you say yes, will send you right back to Start New Offering. Once you have remitted, that option will not be open to you.
If you clicked on “No,” but then realized that you really were ready to remit, click on Start New Offering and then click on “No More Offerings.” You will then be immediately returned to “Have you entered all offerings?”, where you will have a chance to click on “Yes” and quickly find yourself at “Remit to Conference.”
